知識轉移 Knowledge Transfer 43 中大研發神經退化性疾病抑制劑 陳浩然教授（中）發現名為Anti-polyQ Aggregation for Machado-Joseph- Associated Neurodegener ation （AQAMAN）的小分子化合物，能有 效解離有毒蛋白質聚集體，抑制神經退 化。AQAMAN可望開發成藥物，治療 馬查多—約瑟夫病及其他多聚谷氨酰胺 疾病。 New inhibitors to restrain neurodegeneration discovered Prof. Edwin Chan (centre) discovered a small molecule compound named Anti-polyQ Aggregation for Machado- Joseph-Associated Neurodegeneration (AQAMAN) which can dissociate toxic protein aggregates and restrain neurodegeneration. AQAMAN has the potential to be developed into therapeutic usage, offering hope to patients suffering from Machado-Joseph diseases and other polyglutamine diseases.
