SUN, Lei and WANG Lu Jia, PhD students of Department of Electronic Engineering (Supervisors: Prof. Pun KP and Prof. Pun QH ), have been selected to receive an award under the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence – CNOOC Grants for 2011-12.

The ACE Hearing Technology has won Bronze Award and Audience Choice Award at The Wall Street Journal Asian Innovation Awards

The ACE Hearing Technology, for which Prof. Lee Tan of the Department of Electronic Engineering is one of the co-inventors, has won the Bronze award and Audience Choice Award at this year's The Wall Street Journal Asian Innovation Awards presented in Hong Kong on 3 November.

The Radiofrequency Radiation Research Laboratory Received International Laboratory Accreditation

The Radiofrequency Radiation Research Laboratory (R3L) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong recently received the ISO/IEC17025 Certificate of Accreditation under Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) and becomes the only one in Hong Kong and one of few in the world ISO/IEC accredited laboratories for mobile station Over The Air (OTA) performance, mobile phone Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) test and passive antenna measurement and calibration. FUNG, Christy received the Best Student Paper Award

Christy Fung K. Y. was awarded the Best Student Paper of Section at the 16th Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC 2011) held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, July 4-8, 2011. The paper was entitled "Distributed Bragg Reflector Based on Shallow-Etched Side Cladding Grating" by Fung K.Y. Christy, Chen Xia and Professor Tsang Hon Ki.
