陈金梁教授现为香港中文大学(中大)常务副校长及利荣森中国文化教授。陈教授前为新加坡南洋理工大学(南大)文学院讲座教授(Toh Puan Mahani Idris Daim Chair Professor of Humanities)。他于2009年加入南大出任人文、社会科学、艺术设计与传播信息学院院长及哲学系教授,并于2018年1月获委任为副校长,负责统筹校友事务、大学发展和国际关系。
陈教授在香港出生及完成中学教育,其后负笈加拿大,先后于温尼伯大学、曼尼托巴大学和多伦多大学取得学士、硕士及宗教研究博士学位。他曾任曼尼托巴大学助理教授,其后加入新加坡国立大学(NUS),曾担任多个管理职位,包括文学与社会科学学院副院长及协理副校长(本科教育)。于NUS任教期间,陈教授曾两度获颁卓越教学奖。
陈教授曾在北美、亚洲和大中华区多所院校担任访问教授与学人,对全球高等教育有广泛的了解。陈教授与中大的渊源始于2005年,访问中大人文学科研究所,历时一学期。
陈教授的研究领域为中国哲学和宗教、诠释学和批判理论。他是多个国际组织的理事会成员,包括新加坡社会科学研究理事会、中国国际儒学联合会理事会;亦是《Journal of Daoist Studies》和《中国研究牛津在线参考书目》的编辑委员会成员。他曾发表多份着作,并于最近开发了一个名为「Explorations in Confucian Philosophy」的网上教学课程,在Coursera平台已吸引了过万名人士修读。
