As a backend team leader in technical team, the appointee will be responsible for

1. managing the Department network, IT infrastructure and system;
2. administering Linux servers, network equipment and firewall;
3. managing in-house developed applications;
4. supervising technical staff;
5. providing technical support to staff and students; and
6. undertaking other tasks as assigned.

Applicants should have

1. a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines;
2. at least 6 years’ post-qualification relevant experience;
3. the willingness to learn new technologies;
4. solid experience in networking, such as switch, VPN server and firewall;
5. hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining Linux servers; and
6. good organisational and communication skills. Experience in cloud administration and high-performance cluster management (e.g. Slurm) will be an advantage.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

As a member of the technical team, the appointee will be responsible for

1. maintaining the Department’s existing cluster;
2. setting up a new data centre by using the cloud (e.g. AWS, serverless, K8s), new tools (e.g. Ansible) and new hardware (e.g. programmable switch);
3. providing technical support to staff and students; and
4. undertaking other tasks as assigned.

Applicants should have

1. a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines;
2. the willingness to learn new technologies;
3. hands-on experience in Linux; and
4. knowledge of script programming. Interested in cloud administration, and high-performance cluster management (e.g. Slurm) will be an advantage.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks to pursue new strategic research initiatives.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is looking for strong candidates for the position of Teaching Assistant(s) in the related areas to computer science, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning or data analytics.

Applicants should have (i) a good honours degree in a relevant discipline; (ii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iii) good presentation skills; (iv) interest in teaching undergraduate students and assisting with student matters; (v) a meticulous attitude, a strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal and management skills; and (vi) willingness to work under pressure.

The appointee(s) will assist in lectures, tutoring students, preparation of course materials, grading, student consultation or supervision, and other duties as assigned.
