As a member of technical team, the appointee will be responsible for

  1. general management and operation of teaching laboratories;
  2. assisting in designing and implementing experiment kits for courses;

  1. a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines;
  2. knowledge of or experience in embedded system, FPGA development, electronic circuit design and analysis, Arduino programming; and

As a member of the technical team, the appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) maintaining the Department’s existing network and cluster; (b) setting up a new data centre by using the cloud (e.g. AWS, serverless, K8s), new tools (e.g. Ansible) and new hardware (e.g. programmable switch); (c) providing technical support to staff and students; and (d) undertaking other tasks as assigned.

 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) the willingness to learn new technologies; and (iii) hands-on experience in Linux or network administration. Knowledge of script programming, cloud administration, and high-performance cluster management (e.g. Slurm) will be an advantage.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing administrative support to the operations of the Department’s postgraduate programme and programme-related activities; (b) handling student matters; (c) providing administrative and logistical support to teaching and learning matters; (d) co-ordinating seminars and (e) performing other tasks as assigned.

 

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) proficiency in computer applications, including Chinese word-processing, and MS PowerPoint and Excel; (iv) a good command of spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, good communication and interpersonal skills (vi) the ability to work independently in a team-based environment. The appointee will be involved in duties related to (a) overall research staff human resources (HR) matters which include but are not limited to recruitment, appointments, onboarding support, and HR-related enquiries/matters arising; (b) provide administrative support to research matters of the Department (e.g. publications, grants, seminars, etc.); (c) all-round student internship matter for the undergraduate students; and (d) assisting the Department Secretary and Chairman in maintaining an efficient and effective operation of the office.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is looking for a Computer Technician II who will contribute to a university core programme in digital literacy.

 

The appointee will be responsible for (a) working on web-based teaching and learning systems according to teachers’ requirements; (b) managing computing equipment and IT facilities; (c) managing virtual machines; (d) providing assistance to teachers, tutoring students as well as preparation of course materials; and (e) other administrative duties as assigned.

The appointee will contribute to a university core programme in digital literacy under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
