Clarification from CU Medicine
We are aware of the recent circulation of a medical and health food product on the Internet, which claims to be the latest scientific breakthrough in reversing diabetes after 16 years of research by the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CU Medicine). The advertisement quotes information, photos and research articles from Professor Juliana Chan Chung-ngor, Chair Professor, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics of CU Medicine; and her research team in Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes.
CU Medicine solemnly declares that the product in question has no connection whatsoever with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Faculty, Professor Juliana Chan and her research team. CU Medicine deeply regrets the misleading and false information presented by the advertisement, and condemns and reserves the right to pursue the matter.
Taking this opportunity, we urge patients with diabetes to follow their doctor’s instructions and receive appropriate treatment. For safety reasons, patients should not purchase and take drugs on their own without seeking medical consultation.
