葛劍雄
上海復旦大學歷史學博士
上海復旦大學中國歷史地理研究所所長、歷史地理研究中心主任

葛劍雄祖籍浙江紹興,1945年生於浙江湖州。1983年,獲復旦大學歷史學博士學位。

葛教授現任復旦大學中國歷史地理研究所所長、歷史地理研究中心主任、教授、博士生導師。此外,他亦出任中國教育部社會科學委員會委員、中國史學會理事、中國地理學會歷史地理專業委員會主任、中國秦漢史研究會副會長等。

葛教授從事歷史地理、人口史、移民史、文化史等方面研究,專著有《西漢人口地理》(1986年)、《中國人口發展史》(1991年)、《統一與分裂:中國歷史的啟示》(1994年)、《中國移民史》(主编,第一、二卷作者,1997年)、《悠悠長水 -- 譚其驤前傳、後傳》(1997年、2000年)、《中國人口史》(主编,第一卷作者, 2002年),以及《歷史學是甚麼》(2002年)等。另著有歷史地理、中國史、人口史、移民史、文化史論文百餘篇。


Ge Jianxiong
Ph.D. in History (Fudan University)
Director and Professor, Institute of Chinese Historical Geography and Research Center of Historical Geography, Fudan University

Ge Jianxiong was born in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1945. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in history from Fudan University in 1983. Graduating from the Graduate School of Fudan in 1981, he joined the University's Institute of Chinese Historical Geography and since then he has been a professor there.

Prof. Ge is now the Director and Professor of the Institute of Chinese Historical Geography and the Research Center for Historical Geographic Studies, Fudan University and a Ph.D. supervisor. Prof. Ge also serves a number of committees, including the Social Sciences Committee of the National Education Ministry, the Chinese Society of the History of Qin and Han Dynasties (Vice-President), the Executive Board of History Society of China, and the Historical Geography Committee (Chairman) under the Geography Society of China.

Prof. Ge's major research fields include historical population geography, population and migration history, and cultural history. He has written and edited numerous books, including Population Geography of the Western Han Dynasty (1986), History of Population Development in China (1991), Unification and Division: the Enlightenment of Chinese History (1994), Biography of Tan Qixiang (1997 & 2000), History of Migration in China (Vol. 1 & 2, 2002), History of Population in China (Vol. 1, 2002) and What is History (2002). He has also published over 100 articles on historical population geography, population and migration history, and cultural history.

郎咸平
美國賓夕凡尼亞州大學沃頓商學院財務學博士
香港中文大學財務學系講座教授

郎咸平生於臺灣桃園縣,1986年獲得美國賓夕凡尼亞州大學沃頓商學院金融學博士學位,後於美國多所著名商學院任教,包括沃頓商學院、密西根州立大學、俄亥俄州立大學、紐約大學、芝加哥大學等。郎教授現於香港中文大學財務學系任講座教授。

郎教授從事公司治理及行政的研究,並取得出色的成就。近年編著的作品包括:《操縱》(2006年)、《運作》(2006年)、Governance and Expropriation (editor, 2005)、《公司治理》(2004年),以及 East Asian Corporation: Heroes or Villains? (With S. Claessens and S. Djankov, 2000)。學術論文包括:“Dividends and Expropriation” (with Mara Faccio and Leslie Young, American Economic Review, 2001) 、“When Does Corporate Diversification Matter to Productivity and Performance? Evidence from East Asia” (with S. Claessens and J. Fan, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Special Issue on Corporate Governance, July 2003)、“Disentangling the Incentive and entrenchment Effects of Large Shareholdings” (with S. Claessens, S. Djankov and J. Fan, Journal of Finance, December 2003) 等。

Larry H.P. Lang
Ph.D. (Pennsylvania)
Professor of Finance, Department of Finance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Born in Taoyun, Taiwan, Larry H.P. Lang got both his Master and Ph.D. degrees in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1986. He taught in several well-known business schools, including Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Business of Michigan State University, the College of Business of Ohio State University, the Stern School of Business of New York University, and the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago. Now he is Professor of Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Prof. Lang specializes in corporate finance and corporate administration with outstanding achievements. His recent book publications include: Manipulation (in Chinese, 2006), Operation (in Chinese, 2006), Governance and Expropriation (editor, 2005), Corporate Governance (in Chinese, 2004) and East Asian Corporation: Heroes or Villains? (With S. Claessens and S. Djankov, 2000). His recent published academic theses include: “Dividends and Expropriation” (with Mara Faccio and Leslie Young, American Economic Review, 2001); “When Does Corporate Diversification Matter to Productivity and Performance? 黃紹倫
英國牛津大學博士
香港大學亞洲研究中心主任及教授

黃紹倫於1971年在香港大學取得學士學位後,轉至香港中文大學攻讀碩士;後負笈英國牛津大學攻讀研究院課程,並取得博士學位。黃教授初於香港大學社會學系任教,後更出任該系系主任。現時,黃教授是香港大學亞洲研究中心的主任。黃教授亦是多個委員會的成員,包括香港社會學學會(會長)、香港亞洲研究協會(副會長)、香港政策研究所(副主席),以及台灣中央研究院社會學研究所學術諮詢委員等。

黃教授的主要研究興趣包括企業精神、商業網絡、移民過程、社會指標,以及中國的社會學發展。黃教授的主要編撰著作有 Emigrant Entrepreneurs: Shanghai Industrialists in Hong Kong(1988年),《社會轉型與文化變貌:華人社會的比較》(與劉兆佳等編,2001年)、《香港華人家族企業個案研究》(與鄭宏泰合著,2004年)、《香港米業史》(與鄭宏泰合著,2005年)、《香港、台灣和中國內地的社會階級變遷》(與劉兆佳等編,2004年),以及Indicators of Social Development: Hong Kong 2004 (2006年)。

Wong Siu Lun

Director and Professor, Centre of Asian Studies, The University of Hong Kong

Wong Siu Lun obtained his Bachelor of Social Sciences degree at the University of Hong Kong in 1971, his M.Phil. degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and his B.Litt. and D.Phil. degrees at the University of Oxford. His academic career began with teaching in the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong where he was later appointed Professor and Head of Department. He is currently the Director of Centre of Asian Studies at the University of Hong Kong. He also serves a number of committees and associations, including the Hong Kong Sociological Association (President), the Asian Studies Association of Hong Kong (Vice-President), Hong Kong Policy Research Institute (Vice-Chairman), and the Academic Advisory Committee of the Institute of Sociology at the Academic Sinica in Taipei.

His research interests include the study of entrepreneurship, business networks, migration, social indicators, and the development of sociology in China. He is the author of Emigrant Entrepreneurs: Shanghai Industrialists in Hong Kong (1988), Chinese Family Enterprises in Hong Kong: Case Studies (with Victor Zheng, 2004), and A History of the Hong Kong Rice Trade (with Victor Zheng, 2005). He is also the co-editor of Social Transformation and Cultural Change: Comparisons Among Chinese Societies (2001), Social Stratification in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China (2004), and Indicators of Social Development: Hong Kong 2004 (2006).

德理克
美國羅徹斯特大學博士
加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學 Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies 傑出學者

德理克於1940年在土耳其的梅爾辛出生。他在土耳其 Robert College(即博斯普魯斯大學前身)取得電機工程學位後,負笈美國攻讀歷史博士課程,並於1973年獲羅徹斯特大學頒發博士學位。德理克教授現於美國俄勒崗州定居。

德理克教授是加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學 Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies 的傑出學者。他曾於杜克大學任教近三十年,於2001年獲聘任為俄勒崗大學社會科學卓越教授,並擔任Center for Critical Theory and Transnational Studies的主任,至2006年榮休止。期間,德理克教授曾出任多所大學的訪問教授,包括加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學、加州大學洛杉磯分校、法國高等社會科學院、香港科技大學等。

Arif Dirlik
Ph.D. (Rochester)
Distinguished Fellow of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, University of British Columbia

Arif Dirlik was born in Mersin, Turkey, in 1940. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Robert College (now Bosphorus University) in Istanbul and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. He lives in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

Prof. Dirlik is a Distinguished Fellow of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He taught at Duke University for thirty years before moving in 2001 to the University of Oregon where he served as Knight Professor of Social Science, and Director of the Center for Critical Theory and Transnational Studies, before retiring in 2006. He has also served as visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria (BC), University of California-Los Angeles, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is the recipient of Fulbright, NEH, Chiang Ching-kuo, and ACLS fellowships. He has been a fellow of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies, the Nordic Institute for Asian Studies (Copenhagen), the Program in Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado, and, most recently, of the China Center for Comparative Politics and Economics in Beijing.

Prof. Dirlik serves on the editorial boards of Boundary 2, The China Quarterly (England), Interventions (England), China Review (Hong Kong), Asian Studies Review (Australia), China Information (The Netherlands), China Scholarship (Beijing), Cultural Studies (Beijing), Inter-Asia Cultural Studies (Taiwan and Singapore), Norwegian Journal of Migration Research, Global South, and Development and Society (Korea). He edits the book series, “Pacific Formations,” with Rowman and Littlefield. He is also the co-editor of another book series, “Explorations in Postcolonial Studies,” with SUNY Press, and a series of translations from prominent Chinese intellectuals, published by Brill Publishers in the Netherlands.

Prof. Dirlik's works have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Bulgarian, French, German and Portuguese.
