To pay tribute to Prof. SO, New Asia College, CUHK, New Asia Institute of Advanced Chinese Studies and the Department of History are co-organising a memorial service, which will be held on Saturday 26 November 2016 at 10:30am at Yun Chi Hsien, New Asia College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Prof. Ian MORLEY unfolded the multi-disciplinary nature of urban history and the importance of using maps in the talk. After providing a detailed introduction to the main research approaches in this field, he used his own research on the history of urban planning in Manila to show how to explore the morphological evolution of urban places with various historical maps.
