Congratulations to Dr. LUI Wing Sing for being awarded the Exemplary Teaching Award in General Education 2016
Over 200 teachers offer General Education courses at CUHK, many of whom are dedicated and outstanding. In recognition of their contributions, the Senate Committee on General Education (SCGE) launched the Exemplary Teaching Award in General Education. The Award is presented by the SCGE to a maximum of three teachers in recognition of exemplary contribution to teaching and learning in General Education. Congratulations to Dr. LUI Wing Sing for being awarded the Award.
Briefing Session for Summer Internship Programme 2017
The Department of History has organised the Summer Internship Programme for its students since 2000. For the current year, 15 partner organisations in Hong Kong, the Mainland and Taiwan, which include government departments, publishers and museums, offer over 30 intern positions to History full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students (including the MA Programme in Comparative and Public History). Our welcome to Prof. François GIPOULOUX. Prof. GIPOULOUX is visiting the Department between 14 February and 13 March 2017 to have academic exchange with faculty members and students. He will deliver two academic lectures on 1 March and 3 March 2017, with details to be announced later.
Prof. GIPOULOUX received his Doctorate from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Graduate School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences) in 1981 and its Habilitation à diriger des recherches in 1997. He teaches at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and is the Emeritus Research Director of National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS, France). He is a specialist in Chinese economics, with almost 20 years of professional experience in China, Hong Kong and Japan.

Recapping the Workshop on “Asian Humanities and their Global Contexts” on 13 February 2017
The Workshop on “Asian Humanities and their Global Contexts”, co-organised by the Centre for the Taiwan Research Centre of the Research Institute for the Humanities and the Centre for Chinese History of the Department of History, was held on 13 February 2017. Scholars from Germany, Korea, Mainland China and Hong Kong were invited to present papers or act as chairs in this workshop. Participants exchanged views on themes relating to the Asian humanities in the context of globalisation.
