The Division of History organised “Workshops for the Final-Year RPg Students”, offering an interactive sharing and exchange platform for the Department’s research postgraduate students to exchange and discuss their research findings.
Dr. MA Muk Chi gave a public talk with an audience of 70. The talk introduced the development of dragon boat races in Hong Kong. It also investigated the relationship between dragon boat races and the colonial government.
Twelve members from the Institute of Qing History, Renmin University of China, visited the Department on 23 January 2018. They were received by Prof. LEUNG Yuen Sang, Dean of Faculty of Arts; Prof. LAI Ming Chiu, Department Chairman; Prof. HO Pui Yin, Prof. CHIU Peng-sheng, Prof. CHOI Chi Cheung, Prof. HE Xi, Prof. POON Shuk Wah and Prof. PUK Wing Kin, faculty members of the Department. Members from both universities eagerly took the opportunity to discuss and share their views on recent research on Qing history and students’ development.
