Learning Through Teaching (I)

 

On Campus Internship

 

Target: Physics Year-2 and Year-3 students
Activity type: Internship

Aim:

To let you acquire essential practical experience in teaching and actual operations of a University General Education Course (GE Course) which are related to Physics. You will become more aware of yourself through teaching others. We also expect to enhance your understanding in physics knowledge and general education.

Tentative Schedule:
Date: January to April, 2010
Time and Venue: Student-Teacher Arrangement

Duties of Learning Assistant :

1. To prepare teaching materials
2. To help lead the tutorials
3. To assist in classroom teaching
4. To give a sharing in the Stage 4 concluding seminar

Training:

A half-day training will be provided to the Learning Assistants before commencement.

Workload:

Not more than 3 hours per week or 30 hours per semester.

Award:

Each Learning Assistant will be awarded a certificate of participation and a cash award of $1,000 after completing the whole stage 2.
