Prof. Chi-Hin Cho, Associate Director (Research) of SBS, led a delegation which included Prof. Franky Chan, Prof. Yang-Chao Chen, Prof. Wing-Tai Cheung, Prof. Gang Li, Prof. Ge Lin, and Prof. Stephen Tsui to participate in "The 1st China-Hong Kong Academic Forum on Cancer and Microenvironment". The Forum was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from April 10-12, 2011 in Beijing.
Representatives of our School, together with members from the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, shared with each other the recent research findings and interests which range from molecular oncology to biomarkers, and from animal studies to human investigations. In this regard, cancer in various organs, such as the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, lung, and prostate, were the major topics of discussion in the Forum.
The Forum provided an opportunity for our School and the State Key Laboratory to explore and identify common grounds for future collaboration, thus facilitating joint research grant applications in the future. To further strengthen the partnership between both parties, Prof. Qi-Min Zhan, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, and his colleagues, were invited to join our annual School Research Day in 2012.
