McDonnell International Scholars Academy 2023-24

The McDonnell International Scholars Academy is a fellowship programme for graduates of its partner universities, including CUHK. It aims to cultivate a community of culturally and academically diverse leaders who will address the world’s most complex challenges by driving positive and lasting change. CUHK students and alumni are now invited to apply for the McDonnell Academy at Washington University in St. Louis for the admission to one of a select group of full-time doctoral or master’s degree programmes in the 2023–24 academic year.
Terms of Award
- Full tuition for study in a doctoral or master’s degree programme at WUSTL.
- A monthly living stipend
- A relocation expense allowance and travel allowance

Application to the McDonnell Academy is separate from, and in addition to, an application to a doctoral or master’s degree programme at WUSTL. Applicants are advised to observe the different application requirements and deadlines on the individual programme websites.
Information Session & InterviewÂ
An information session conducted by current McDonnell Academy scholars from CUHK and a preliminary interview for the fellowship programme will be held on 21 December 2022 (Wednesday) at 12:30pm at Room 501, Yasumoto International Academic Park. Interested applicants are strongly recommended to sign up for the interview to get a head start for their applications. Please register online with a recent CV of no more than two pages by 20 December 2022 (Tuesday).
Application
Shortlisted applicants should submit the personal essay as required by the McDonnell Academy to the Office of Academic Links (c/o Ms. Alice Leong; hyleong@cuhk.edu.hk) by 12 January 2023 (Thursday) for review. A full application with the essay, a letter of recommendation and a short video should be submitted online by 31 January 2023 (Tuesday). For the specific requirements of the application materials, please refer to the programme website. Applicants are advised to submit a copy of their applications to the Office of Academic Links (c/o Ms. Alice Leong; hyleong@cuhk.edu.hk) for record.
