IMPORTANT Reminder for First Term Centralized Course Examinations 2022-23 |
Dear Students, |
First Term Centralized Course Examinations will begin on 7 December 2022. Please pay attention to the following regarding examination arrangements. |
1. |
Academic Honesty |
The University places very high importance on honesty in academic work, and adopts a policy of zero tolerance on academic dishonesty. All students MUST comply with the respective rules and regulations for taking examinations. All acts of academic dishonesty, once established by the concerned authorities, shall be disciplined in accordance with the University’s policies and guidelines governing academic honesty (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/policy/academichonesty/). Demerit records will be marked on student’s academic transcript and for some serious cases, the penalty includes lowering of degree honours as a result of academic dishonesty. Therefore, students MUST take academic honesty very seriously when attending any examinations/tests/other forms of assessments. |

Examination Arrangements |
Before attending the examination, students MUST check again their individual FINAL Examination Timetable in CUSIS and jot down their seat number for each course examination. Students who do not know their seat number will only be provided assistance when RES staff have prepared all examination arrangements and they will need to line up outside the examination venue to wait for seating arrangements. Therefore, to avoid any possible delay, please check carefully and jot down the seat number (as stated in the examination timetable of your own) and take up the assigned seat for your examination. SEN students should follow the information stated in the latest e-mail sent to them to attend the final examination with special arrangements according to the date, time, and venue, if applicable. For students who have been approved for late add/drop AFTER the release of final examination timetable, their personal examination schedule on CUSIS will NOT be further updated. For late add cases, students should have been notified details of examination by email/letter. For late drop cases, students should NOT attend the scheduled examination and they will be disqualified from the related examination even though they attempt to take it. |
3. |
Vaccine Pass and Precautionary Measures |
Students should note the announcement made by the University on 16 November 2022 regarding the Vaccine Pass arrangements for entry into the campus from 30 November 2022. The University will strictly enforce the following stringent precautionary measures in examination venues in addition to the “Guidelines for Precautionary Measures for Face-to-Face Examinations”. |
• |
Students are required to wear surgical masks throughout the examination, and should line up with social distancing for the following measures when entering examination venues. Please arrive at the exam venue at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of the examination (e.g. arrive at 9:20 am if examination starts at 09:30 am). |
o |
Body temperature screening will be conducted at the entrance of all examination venues. Anyone with body temperature constantly at or higher than 37.5C will NOT be allowed to enter the examination venue, and they should apply for absence from examinations. |
o |
All students are required to use alcohol sanitizer to clean their hands before entering the examination venue. |
• |
After entering the examination venue, students MUST take up the assigned seat. Alcohol wipes will be provided to students to clean the desk/chair of the examination venue as deemed necessary. |
• |
No eating or drinking is allowed inside all examination venues. |
For protection of the health and well-being of the campus community, students who are not feeling well or who have respiratory symptoms should not attend the examinations, and should apply for absence from examinations. |
4. |
Other Important Information |
Please refer to our e-mail communication dated 9 November 2022 for details of examination rules and special circumstances for re-scheduling of examination. If there are genuine difficulties to attend the examination (e.g. medical and/or other health reasons), students MUST apply for absence from examinations in accordance with University Regulations by using the designated application form. A student who is absent from any examination without permission shall be given a failure grade in that examination. Please also note that, in general, the data retention period is one year for all examination data collected/generated during examinations, except when the data are required for specific purposes (e.g. investigation of disciplinary cases). |
