To: Students whose Expected Graduation Term is 1st Term 2022-23 |
Subject: Course Fulfillment, Major GPA, Major Upper GPA and Degree Conferment Date |
Dear Graduating Student, |
As you are expected to graduate in 1st term 2022-23, kindly note the following and take actions as required. |
1. Check Fulfillment of Course Requirements |
Please select “Academic Progress” under CUSIS to run the “Advisement Report” and “In-progress Report” to check if you still have any outstanding requirement(s) for graduation under “My Academic Requirements” and “Planner”, respectively. If you still have outstanding University/ Major Programme requirement(s) at the moment, you will NOT be able to graduate in 1st term 2022-23. You may still apply for change of expected graduation term using the application form on RES homepage by 30 December 2022. Please also check under “My Academics” whether related academic records i.e. 2nd Major, Minor(s), Concentration(s)/ Stream of study of the Major Programme registered are correct. You MUST contact RES by 30 December 2022 if there is any discrepancy. For those who cannot fulfill the course requirements for the declared Minor Programme(s), they will receive notification via email from RES around mid-February 2023 for cancellation of their unfulfilled Minor Programme(s). |
2. Check Major GPA and Major Upper GPA |
The grades for 1st term 2022-23 will be released on 13 January 2023. Please check your Major GPA and Major Upper GPA in the “Advisement Report” under CUSIS after the release of grades. You MUST check carefully the courses that are included in the calculation of Major GPA/ Major Upper GPA, especially for those students who have applied for course substitution/ equivalence. As Major GPA is one of criteria for determination of honours classification, you MUST report to RES by 31 January 2023 at the latest if you find any error or have queries about the GPA shown under your “Advisement Report” in CUSIS. Late report will NOT be accepted. Please note that you have to re-run the “Advisement Report” and check your updated Major GPA/ Major Upper GPA again if there is a change in grade(s) in your Major course(s). |
3. Grade Appeal/ Pending Requirements for Graduation |
Students are reminded to plan their academic studies carefully and they should fulfill all graduation requirements as early as possible if they wish to graduate on time. Students MUST observe the grade appeal period. Any grade appeal made after the specified grade appeal period will NOT be entertained. Students should proactively follow up with the course teachers concerned for any pending grades after the grade release date. For students with pending grades/documents/records at the time of graduation assessment (e.g. outstanding course grades, official transcripts for course and unit exemption for outgoing exchange students, unresolved disciplinary action), their degree conferment will be postponed to the next degree conferment date, and that will be 31 July 2023. |
4. Release of Degree Honours Classification Results and Degree Conferment Date |
For students without any pending graduation requirements/records, their degree honours classification result will be released on RES homepage on 7 March 2023 and will have their degree conferred on 31 March 2023. The degree certificates will be available for collection around one month after the degree conferment date. Details will be announced on RES homepage. |
