Sam joined the team in 2015 as a Ph.D. student, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow working on antimicrobial resistance and bioinformatics in microbiology. His Ph.D. project focused on the molecular epidemiology of Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) from human and food animals. His research interest includes but not limited to: (1) tracing the evolutionary dynamics of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) via Next-Generation Sequencing; (2) investigating clinical outbreaks using genome-wide association study (GWAS); (3) evaluating the effect of probiotics on gut modulation in different populations through metagenomic sequencing. |

Priyanga is a full-time researcher currently overseeing all animal experiments within the team, including but not limited to bacteraemia and wound infection models. Prior to that, he worked on a project entitled "Antimicrobial photodynamic activity of Boron-dypyrromethene based photosensitizers against MRSA infections" at the School of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK, in collaboration with Professor Margaret Ip. |

Carmen is a full-time researcher with a research focus on the epidemiology of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) isolated from human and food animals through characterizing the phenotype and genotype of the pathogen. She is also interested in antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic bacteria and clinical Gram-positive and -negative bacteria by whole-genome sequencing for the identification of novel antibiotic resistance determinants and mechanisms. Her research encompasses the fields of molecular biology, bacteriology, infectious disease, public health, One Health, and bioinformatics.
