It is a new VPN solution with improved security and usability. It resolves the potential risk that the existing VPN services, i.e., ‘Legacy’ CUHK VPN and ‘SSL VPN’, would induce under an improper client configuration.

1. Can I still use the ‘Legacy’ CUHK VPN and ‘SSL VPN’ services?
   Yes, these services will co-exist with the New CUHK VPN until this summer. The exact decommissioning date will be announced in May.While support is still available for existing installations, the ‘New’ CUHK VPN should be used for new installations. We recommend you switch to the new service as early as practicable.
2. I saw the message ‘You do not have sufficient privileges’ after clicking the above download link, why?
   The installation instruction is restricted to CUHK staff and students access only.  As a result, please make sure you have signed in the ITSC Knowledge.
3. Who can use the New CUHK VPN? 

   Students, staff, and project account holders.

4. How to access library subscribed e-resources after installing the New CUHK VPN? 

   Please use Easy Access to access CUHK subscribed e-resources from the Library after installing the New CUHK VPN.
