Digital technologies have led to a profound transformation of human societies around the world. Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are among the most important drivers of the digital transformation. The digital innovations have also fundamentally reshaped our economies. At the same time, East Asia has become a global centre of digital innovation that contributes key cutting-edge digital technologies.
Jointly established by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Zhejiang University in May 2022, the Chinese University of Hong Kong-Zhejiang University Joint Research Center for Digital Economy serves as a hub for high impact analysis and research on issues of development of the new Digital Economy in a global context. This joint venture pulls together knowledge and economic resources from the two universities as well as engaging researchers from around the world, so as to embark on digital economic studies of global attention and facilitate extensive economic issue-related collaboration with regulators of the digital economy.
