High Carbon Utilization in CO2 Electrolysis to Multi-Carbon Products in Acidic Media

Collaborating with University of Toronto, a research team led by Professor Ying Wang has developed an electrochemical system (acidic CO2 electrolyzer) to convert CO2 with water and green electricity (renewable electricity) into valuable products for building blocks in chemical industries. This work has achieved a high conversion efficiency (60%) of CO2 to multi-carbon products under industrial relevant conditions (current density: 500 mA/cm2). The breakthrough has been recently published in Nature Catalysis, one of the world’s leading scientific journals.
