This course is designed to develop the English listening and speaking competence of Nursing and Gerontology students from The Nethersole School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine. It aims to prepare these students to engage in a range of professional interactions with members of the public, to explain and exchange information in both lay and medical terms, to understand the structure and linguistic features of both spoken and written texts for clinical communication, and to develop strategies to understand medical terminology.
