Bachelor of Science in Public Health Programme

 

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health Programme was launched in 2009.  It is the only undergraduate programme of its kind in Hong Kong.  It provides students who have interests in public health with valuable insights into population health issues.  This programmes is bench-marked with world-class universities in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Bachelor of Science in Community Health Practice

 

The two-year, full-time Bachelor of Science in Community Health Practice articulation programme was launched in 2013.  It aims at equipping graduates with knowledge, skills and competencies to effectively implement community health programmes.

Bachelor of Science Programme in Gerontology 

 

The Bachelor of Science Programme in Gerontology is a UGC-funded two-year full-time articulation programme designed for associate degree or higher diploma graduates. It aims at equipping students with knowledge and skills to take on aged care service planning; interdisciplinary coordination; planning and implementing care management, empowerment programmes, telecare and transitional care in a wide variety of elderly health and social care settings. 

Minor Programme in Public Health

This programme provides a basic understanding of current public health issues and is targeted towards students from all disciplines.  Core public health skills such as foundations in public health, epidemiology, infectious disease, health and social behaviour and introduction to health system will be discussed.

All CUHK students are welcome to apply Minor Programme in Public Health. Students are required to complete at least 15 units (old curriculum students) or 18 units (new curriculum students) of courses to fulfill the requirement of a Minor Programme.

Medical Programme

As part of the Faculty of Medicine, our Division staff is engaged in the coordination and teaching of the following courses of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) Programme.  Our educational perspectives reflect the need to develop a community based approach to care along with the development of skills needed to enhance health in the community.
