World’s recognitions in rankings
CUHK excels in a number of ranking tables.
CUHK has recently received multiple rounds of international recognition. The University is placed the 7th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2022, and 38th in the QS World University Rankings 2023 which is its best result in over a decade.
Besides, the University participated for the first time in the THE Impact Rankings, which measure the contribution of universities against each of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It had the highest total score among all participating universities in Hong Kong, ranked 10th globally for SDG4–Quality Education and 36th for SDG8–Decent Work and Economic Growth. The recognition is a testament to the University’s dedication in promoting sustainable development.
At the same time, CUHK excelled in the Top Universities and Scientists Rankings by Research.com. Nine disciplines were featured in China’s top ten, with Psychology being ranked 1st. More than 150 CUHK scholars were named in the Top Scientists Rankings across different disciplines and over 50 of them were named as top 50 scientists nationally in their respective disciplines.
