APRU: Creativity unleashed for Earth Day 2022 celebrations
Every year on 22 April, more than one billion people around the world celebrate Earth Day to demonstrate support and raise awareness in protecting our planet’s environment. The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) Virtual Student Exchange (VSE) programme, conceptualised and managed by CUHK, enables students across the Pacific Rim to experience international education without physically traveling to an overseas destination and illustrates the potential to save many tons of carbon emissions.
To celebrate Earth Day 2022, the APRU VSE programme invited students from across the APRU network to unleash their creativity by sharing their ideas of investing in our planet through writing, art, photography, videography, or any type of creative media. The VSE programme pledged to plant 30 trees at locations across the Pacific Rim for each entry received.
The contest allows students’ creativity turning into meaningful action to invest in our planet.
Close to 30 entries were received from students of APRU member universities. After a vigorous review process by an international panel, three entries from CUHK, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Universidad de Chile were selected as winners. The winning and commended entries are showcased on the VSE website.
