In the time of mayhem amid the pandemic, our students continue to grasp learning opportunities by joining an array of virtual summer programmes offered by the University’s partner institutions, allowing them to connect with their peers globally and enrich their cultural and social experience without leaving home.

Such programmes covered diverse topics such as arts, activism and social justice by the University of Bristol in the UK; law by Bocconi University in Italy; arts, culture and creative industries by Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany; and language and culture by Rikkyo University in Japan; among many others.

HO Hon Leung, a Year 1 Global Economics and Finance student was grateful for the opportunity to join the Sawasdee Thailand Virtual Summer Program organised by Mahidol University in Thailand. Not only did he learn about the Thai culture, but also the cultures of other countries through interactions with the worldwide participants. Though the programme was short, he had developed friendships with many students from around the globe.
