UQ-CUHK-Exeter Joint Fund 2022 – Environmental Sustainability
(For CUHK, UQ, and Exeter faculty)
Deadline: Friday, 15 July 2022, 11:59pm (HK time)
CUHK, The University of Queensland (UQ), and the University of Exeter (Exeter) are world-leading in environmental science with a strong dedication to the advancement of sustainable development. The three universities have separately established the CUHK-Exeter Joint Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Resilience (ENSURE) and the QUEX Institute to tackle challenges emerging from the changing environment and its influence on planetary health.
Following the success of the joint virtual symposium and exploratory workshop on Environmental Sustainability in November 2021, a seed funding scheme was created to kick-start research initiatives to leverage the universities’ collective strengths and promote long-term collaborative projects that can access external funding sources in the future.
The theme for the joint fund is Environmental Sustainability, with priority given to three sub-themes: Marine Ecosystem, Environment and Health, and Climate Change. A total of three projects will be supported with each university being awarded one project as lead. Each project will receive a maximum award of HK$100,000. Eligible costs for support may include, but not limit to, travels/visits, workshop organization, field work, and data collection.
The fund is open to all academic staff members holding full-time employment from all disciplines and at all levels. The project team must comprise at least one member from each institution, with one being the Chief Investigator and the others being collaborators.
