CUHK excels in rankings

CUHK excels in a number of ranking tables.

CUHK rises in world rankings.

CUHK’s teaching and research excellence is once again recognised by a number of international league tables.

The University is placed 45th in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, which is its best performance in the THE rankings since it was first listed in 2010. It has also risen to a record high of 53rd place, climbing 29 places from last year to be ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong in the Best Global Universities Rankings 2023 by the US News & World Report.

CUHK is world leading in a number of disciplines as revealed by the THE World University Rankings 2023 by Subject. Four subjects, including Education, Computer Science, Clinical and Health, and Law, are ranked in the top 50 in the world. Apart from that, nine subjects are ranked in the world’s top 50 universities by the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022. Among which, four subjects including biomedical engineering, computer science and engineering, finance, and physics, are ranked first in Hong Kong.

Besides, CUHK is among the Top 100 Worldwide Universities Granted US Utility Patents for the fourth consecutive year. In 2021, 34 US utility patents were issued, covering various technologies including diagnostics, therapeutics, medical devices, telecommunication, and mechanical engineering.
