CUHK hosts joint workshop with University of California, San Diego

CUHK hosted the first joint workshop with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) on 9 April with participation from some 20 researchers of both universities. Initiated by Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and Dr. Pradeep K. Khosla, Chancellor of UCSD, the joint workshop served to exchange ideas and identify collaborative opportunities in the areas of robotics, biomaterials, and neuroscience.

UCSD is ranked among the top 50 universities in the world by various international league tables. It received US$1.2 billion in sponsored research support for 2018 which places it 7th in the US among research universities for sponsored research. It has strengths in biological sciences, biomedicine/bioengineering, and earth and environmental research, to name a few.
