Why create an account?

By creating an account, you can view your order history at any time and keep track of the orders. You are able to shop faster by editing your shopping preference in the system.

Should I sign up before checkout?

No. Guest checkout is allowed in our system.

How to use the coupon?

Choose your favourable item, click 'Add to Cart'. Click to view your items placed in the shopping cart.
Before check out, click 'View Cart'.
Choose 'Use Coupon Code' and enter the code in the space (some coupons may require customer login). Click 'Apply Coupon'. Proceed to checkout and complete your order.

How can I know my order status?

Once you make an order, a confirmation email will be sent to your mailbox (Please also check "junk mailbox"). We will also update the order status via email. Registered customers can login and check the order status at any time.

When will I get my items?

Delivery time varies with shipping method and destination. Please check Delivery Standard for your reference. When the item is shipped, we will notify you by email (Please also check "junk mailbox").

What is the difference between Registered Mail and Non-registered Mail?

A fee of US$2 is charged for registration. There is a tracking number for Registered Mail. Customers can track the mail at https://hongkongpost.hk/tc/mail_tracking/index.html.

As for Non-registered Mail, there are no means to track it.

Customers have to bear the risks of mailing process. We will not take responsibility of any lost mail.

I opt for Registered Mail. How can I get my tracking number?

Tracking number will be sent via email once the parcel is sent (Please also check "junk mailbox"). Customers can track the mail at https://hongkongpost.hk/tc/mail_tracking/index.html.

Payment Method

CUP accepts payment by Credit Card (VISA / MASTERCARD / UnionPay) and Cheque in HKD / USD.
Secure payment: The payment is made through Bank of East Asia (BEA) online payment gateway under a Secure Payment Page operated by Joint Electronic Tell Services. To maximize security, the system adopts Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption for data transfer to ensure a secure flow of information between you and BEA. In other words, your information is changed to unreadable code before transmission, and only authorized receivers can unlock the encryption to view your payment information.
To pay by cheque, please make cheque in HKD / USD payable to “The Chinese University of Hong Kong” and send together with the invoice to:

In case there is any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

Delivery Information

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press (CUP) delivers goods by Hong Kong Post in general.
Delivery within Hong Kong is free of charge. Postage rates for overseas delivery (less than or equal to 2 kg) are based on Hongkong Post. Postage rates for overseas delivery (more than 2kg) to major international cities/countries # are based on HongKong Post; the rates for the other countries are calculated with a standard rate##. Extra fee is charged for Registered Mail.
Airmail: No service to Macau. There is no area of country (except Macau) limitation for overseas delivery, but the shipping time for particular remote areas will be longer.
If there is no recipient when the package is delivered and the package is returned to CUP, there is no refund. Extra postage will be charged upon request for re-sending the package. If the package has not been returned to CUP, extra postage plus the value of goods will be charged upon request for re-sending the package.
For customers who opt for Registered Mail, CUP will update the “Order History” in corresponding accounts. Customers can track the mail at https://hongkongpost.hk/tc/mail_tracking/index.html.
