Call for Papers

The China Review welcomes the submission of high-quality research articles, research notes and book reviews dealing with the political, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary China. Research article manuscripts should not be longer than 10,000 words in length. Research notes should normally be 3,000 words, and book reviews between 800 and 1,000 words. They should be submitted in electronic format, double-spaced, with footnotes grouped together at the end of the paper. Call for Special Issues

The China Review also encourages scholars at the forefront of the respective China studies communities to organize, guest edit and submit special issues on newly emerging or traditionally importantly China studies topics. A special issue may contain four or five articles researching on the topic from the various perspectives, which makes some new or unique contributions to the discourse in their field. Before submitting manuscripts, guest editors are required to send a proposal, which clarifies the topic, significance of the research, abstract and outline of each article, contributors’ short bio and the estimated timetable, to the editorial team for review and approval.
