Tang
Two-legged Pottery Inkstone in the Form of a Clog and the Chinese Character Feng (Wind)

This is a popular style in the Tang Dynasty. Its special feature is its shape in the form of a clog and the Chinese character feng (wind). It is designed based on the form of a clog. On one side the edge is deep and rounded while on the other side the edge is flat with two horns. There are two legs in the lower part to support the grinding surface and allow the ink to flow downwards to pool in the rounded base. The inkstone body is in the form of the Chinese character feng (wind). The two edges diverge towards the opening like the Chinese character feng (wind). This is a pottery inkstone matching with the design in the form of a clog.
