Applicable to 4-Year Curriculum

All students of United College have to take 21 units of General Education courses, which include the courses required by the University and the College, respectively. For students of specifically approved professional programme (LLB), the General Education requirement is 12 units. The unit requirements of General Education courses are as follows:

Note: Specifically approved professional programme is LLB, students only need to take 6 UGE units.

GEJC1120 “College, University and Society” is jointly offered by Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College to their first year students, and taught in English. Priority will be given to those non-JUPAS and overseas students who have difficulties in the use of Chinese language. The remaining places will be opened for other students to enroll, subject to approval of the College General Education Office. Successful applicants must drop GEUC1011 “University, Life and Learning”.

  1. This is the compulsory course for upper-year entrants holding associate degrees or higher diplomas.
  2. No exemption in College general education requirements for Advanced Standing to FYFD places.

In addition to completing the courses required by the College, students also need to complete the requirements of the University General Education Programme in the General Education Foundation (GEF) Programme and the Four Areas of University General Education requirement. Updated General Education Programme Requirement could be found in the Undergraduate Student Handbook or related websites.
