Morningside Rowers Shine
2014年1月26日
The Morningside rowing team had a strong performance at the 10th CUHK Rowing Championship.
Despite being one of CUHK's smallest colleges, Morningside has a strong reputation in intercollegiate rowing. At the 10th CUHK Rowing Championships held 25-26 January 2014, Morningside fielded two Men's 4+s, one Men's 8+, a Men's Single Sculls, two Women's 4+s and a Women's Double Sculls --- an impressive turnout for a College with only 300 students! Despite all eight rowers being novices, the Men's 8+ missed the finals by the narrowest of margins, losing out by a fraction of a boat's length to a known college powerhouse.
Following their third place finish last year, the Women's A boat again made the 4+ Finals this year.
The Men's captain Jonathan Lee represented Morningside in the Single Sculls event and made the finals, and Women's co-captains Tara Lam and Christy Ho gallantly raced against an invitational team from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in the Double Sculls Final.
Congratulations to the Morningside rowing team for their dedication and effort, and thanks to team coach and cox, Morningside graduate Simon Yeung. Once again, we showed that our small college is a force to be reckoned with. Go Morningside!
