CUHK Convocation Outstanding Service Awards 2022/23

Application Deadline: 6 January 2023 (Friday) 5:00 p.m.

The "CUHK Convocation Outstanding Service Awards 2022/23" are now open for application. The awards target at full-time year 2 or above undergraduate students of any disciplines.

The College would nominate students to compete with nominees from other Colleges and Faculties for 2 awards of $10,000 each.

Requirements

Category 1: Outstanding Community Service Award

-   Full-time year 2 or above undergraduate students of any disciplines

-   Active and enthusiastic participation and promotion of community services

-   Outstanding contribution to the community

-   Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities

Category 2: Outstanding Campus Services Award

- Full-time year 2 or above undergraduate students of any disciplines

- Active and enthusiastic participation and promotion of campus-wide, college-based, or departmental extra-curricular or academic activities

- Outstanding contributions to the University, College or Department

- Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities

The awardees must be a full-time undergraduate student during the tenure of the award (i.e. for the whole academic year of award). Students who will graduate after Term 1 studies are NOT eligible.

Supporting documents

After completing the application form, please submit the below supporting documents to the Dean of Students' Office before the application deadline:

1. A completed application form

2. A personal statement in English of not more than 500 words which elaborates the services and contribution. Number of words should be indicated at the end of the statement.  

3. A letter of recommendation addressed to the donor CUHK Convocation (Attn: Mr. Kelvin Yeung) on appropriate letterhead paper

4. Documentary proofs for the campus/community services as listed in Section D of the application form. The proofs should be able to verify the information provided on the application form. 

5. Academic transcript from undergraduate year 1 to the first term of 2022/23 (Downloaded copy is acceptable, provided that it has been certified as a true copy by the Faculty with stamp)

6. For applicants who had participated in overseas exchange programmes: A photocopy of academic transcripts with Explanation Notes of Grading System on an Exchange Programme (if applicable). Any downloaded transcripts are not acceptable

7. Photocopies of awards received (if any)
