An example of applying image processing technique to estimate optical phase noise in coherent optical OFDM transmission systems

Abstract

The talk will discuss the application of a simple image processing technique to realize common phase noise estimation in current high-speed coherent optical OFDM transmission systems. The proposed approach greatly enhances the spectrum efficiency, yet attains comparable system performance, as compared to the conventional pilot-aided approach.
