Organized by the Japan Foundation, the School of Architecture of CUHK, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, the exhibition ‘How Did Architects Respond Immediately after 3/11 (The Great East Japan Earthquake)?’ runs from 19 October to 7 November in the Integrated Teaching Building. On 19 October, a seminar titled ‘Post-quake Rebuilding Works in Japan and China’ was held featuring Prof. Taro Igarashi (4th right), associate professor of Tohoku University; architect Mr. Keiichiro Sako (4th left), and Prof. Zhu Jingxiang (1st left), School of Architecture, CUHK. The speakers shared their experience of the earthquakes in Eastern Japan and Sichuan, and investigated the rebuilding strategies and future development of building and architecture.
