University of South Florida, U.S.A . He received a BSIE degree from Northeastern University, an MS and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Leung's research interests are in the areas of equipment replacement analysis, economics of manufacturing systems, and cash-flow modelling. He was the 1983 recipient of the Society of Manufacturing Engineer's Bodine Award for his research in equipment replacement analysis. His works have appeared in the Journal of Manufacturing Systems, the Institute of Industrial Engineering Transactions, the Engineering Economists, and the Engineering Costs and Production Economics. He is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Dr. Yuk-Shan Wong Lecturer, Department of Biology Dr. Yuk-Shan Wong obtained his BA degree in Biology from Concordia University, Canada, in 1974. He was then awarded the Davi d Stewart Memorial Scholarship to work fo r his MSc and PhD theses under Professor Gordon A. MacLachlan, MacDonald Chair Professor in Biology, at McGill University in Canada. In 1979 , Dr. Wong was awarded the Medical Research Council (Canada) Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Best Fellowship to work with Professor David H. MacLennan, Director of Banting and Best Institute for Medical Research, at the University of Toronto. Dr. Wong was appointed Lecturer of the Department of Applied Science of the Hong Kong Polytechnic the following year. He joined this University in August 1985 after his five years' service at the Polytechnic. Dr. Wong's current research interest includes cell wall metabolism and studies on mechanism of heavy metal tolerance in plants. Dr. Wong has been actively involved in the activities of academic bodies; he is currently the Vice-Chairman of the UK Institute of Biology (Hong Kong Branch) and the Secretary of The Society of Hong Kong Scholars. Mr . Stephen C. Y am Lecturer, Department of Accounting & Finance Mr. Stephen C. Yam obtained his BComm and MBA degrees from the Concordia University, Canada. He is a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. He is also holding a licence to practise public accountancy in Texas. Mr. Yam had taught at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Concordia University and McMaster University in Canada before joining this University as Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance in 1985. He had also served as management consultant to numerous small businesses in Canada. His research interests and publications are mainly in the area of auditor's responsibilities, audit sampling, and China's accounting and tax system.
