Information and Public Relations Services The Information and Public Relations Office of the University Secretariat is mainly responsible for providing information and public relations services both internally and externally. It liaises closely with the media through its functions including answering press enquiries, organizing press conferences, press interviews and media gatherings, and issuing press releases regularly on University news and developments. The office handles both internal and external enquiries, informs the University community about campus activities through the publication of Campus Events , and helps update information about the University for local and overseas publications. It is also responsible for organizing official functions such as degree congregations, public lectures, seminars, agreement signing and presentation ceremonies. It plays host to local and overseas visitors and produces promotional materials introducing the University to visitors. University Publications The Publication Office (website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/puo ) of the University Secretariat produces official publications that provide different types of information about the University. Most of these publications have both printed and electronic versions. The Chinese University of Hong Kong Calendar (website: http://www. cuhk.edu.hk/puo/calendar/index.htm ), published in Chinese and English in autumn each year, is a university catalogue with information about the history, organization, facilities, regulations, and academic programmes of the University. Copies are on sale at The Chinese University Press and the University Bookshop. The Chinese University of Hong Kong Annual Report (website: http:// www.cuhk.edu.hk/puo/report/index.htm) is published annually around December to review the major developments of the University in the previous academic year. The Chinese University Bulletin (website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/puo/ bulletin/index.htm) is published twice a year to give information about University activities, developments and recent achievements. It is distributed free to friends of the University.
