Faculty and Departmental Research/Consultancy Units 99 Apart from the 10 major institutes for interdisciplinary research, there are a number of smaller research/consultancy units set up under the auspices of individual faculties and departments to promote research in various subject disciplines. ATC applies culturally relevant knowledge in psychological assessment and industrial-organizational psychology to personal growth and modern management. Equipped with audio-visual recording and multimedia presentation facilities, ATC is an important research and training resource. It provides users with a comprehensive range of valid assessment tools and training packages for self- enhancement and management practices. ATC is a vital research facility for the behavioural validation of psychological assessment tools. It also serves as a teaching laboratory for students in the industrial-organizational psychology programme to gain hands-on experience in conducting training workshops, performance appraisal, and personnel selection exercises. The Biotechnology Laboratory Tel.: 2609 6807 Fax.: 2603 5123 E-mail: biochemistry@cuhk.edu.hk The Biotechnology Laboratory was established in 1986 with a special grant from The Croucher Foundation and Dr. Ho Tim. Located on the fourth floor of the Basic Medical Sciences Building, the laboratory is operated jointly by the departments of biochemistry and biology.
