Our department is dedicated in optimizing patient care, by providing high quality clinical imaging and interventional radiology services, supported by scientific research and innovation. We seek to undertake inspirational and impactful research in our field and are committed in teaching the science and application of imaging and interventional radiology.

The Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology is dedicated to provide a platform for top class clinical service, research, and education in imaging and interventional radiology.  The department has a team of clinical academic staff who are devoted to clinical research in imaging related to neuroradiology, hepatology, head and neck, oncology, gastroenterology, musculoskeletal conditions and pediatrics. Our non-clinical scientists specialized in biophysics and magnetic resonance imaging are devoted to non-clinical researches in the development of innovative imaging technologies including new magnetic resonance imaging sequences.

Grand Opening of the GCNC MRI Core Facility
With the generous support from the University, a new state-of-the-art Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma 3T MRI Scanner has been installed in the Prince of Wales Hospital. The scanner is a University-wide core facility, for use exclusively for CUHK researchers across all faculties and research units.
