Our Mission

The mission of the English Language Teaching Unit plays a central role within the University’s overall language enhancement programme by:

providing English language enhancement opportunities for CUHK students at all levels of proficiency and in all areas of demand

raising awareness of the English language enhancement needs of CUHK students and designing a coherent and comprehensive range of courses to meet the requirements

seeking out opportunities to work with departments and faculties across the university to address the specific English language learning needs of their students

ensuring that all ELT Unit courses, teaching, learning and assessment strategies are informed by quality assurance processes and emphasizing a concern for professional practice

For 22–23 Term 2 ELTU course swapping and registration matters, please refer to the email from the ELTU Student Affairs Team and submit an online application HERE during the following stages:

  • Stage 1: 10 Nov 2022 (Thu) 5:00pm – 28 Nov 2022 (Mon) 9:00am
  • Stage 2: 15 Jan 2023 (Sun) 5:00pm – 23 Jan 2023 (Mon) 9:00am
