LEI, Gordon K. P. was awarded the IEEE Best Student Paper Award at the 14th OptoElectronics and Communications Conference (OECC 2009) held at Hong Kong, July 13 - 17, 2009.

The paper was entitled "Conversion of 40 Gb/s OTDM to 4×10 Gb/s WDM Channels with Extinction Ratio Enhancement by Pump-Modulated Four-Wave Mixing Using Time- and Wavelength-Interleaved Laser Pulses" by Lei K. P. Gordon and Professor Shu Chester.
