This course aims to help students acquire an understanding of the nature, principles and application of social casework. The values, knowledge and skills essential to casework intervention with individuals and families will be introduced with reference to the generalist model and the psychosocial approach. Emphasis will be put on the interplay between stressful life events, social environment, clients' individual functioning as well as their interpersonal relationships.
