Gastroenterology & Hepatology
Introduction
Many Hong Kong people have unhealthy lifestyles with high levels of stress, irregular meal times and inadequate time to care for their health. It is not surprising that many people report symptoms of stomach or abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and blood in stool which may all be due to problems of the digestive system. Our locality also has a high prevalence of hepatitis B and Helicobacter pylori infection which are often asymptomatic but may lead to serious diseases if not managed.
Moreover, 3 of the top 10 cancers in Hong Kong arise from the digestive system with colorectal cancer being the most common cancer in Hong Kong. These cancers can be identified at an early stage or even prevented with appropriate investigations and treatment.
Our team of CUHK professors, doctors, specialty nurses, and other professionals provide patient-centred, quality and holistic diagnostic and treatment services to patients with gastrointestinal and liver problems.
