Dear Colleagues, Alumni, Students, Staff, and Friends,
I am thrilled and delighted to welcome you to the inaugural issue of our quarterly newsletter. We hope you enjoy this new way to keep you informed of the exciting news of our faculty, students, and alumni of the Computer Science and Engineering Department.
Recently we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Engineering Faculty and one thing that I learned was how privileged and proud I am to journey with so many wonderful colleagues, students, alumni, staff members, and friends of the department. I hope our newsletter will help us to reconnect with each other, reflect on the fruits of our labor, and rediscover our passion for new insights.
Please share your story related to our department’s mission and vision with us for a future newsletter. We would love to hear from you!

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
Hi everyone!
My name is Hong, you can also call me Henry. I am chairing the Department’s Alumni Committee, and it gives me great pleasure to connect to you all, particularly our alumni, through this newsletter which I helped design.
I hope you have enjoyed reading the newsletter. Before closing, I want to share with you that we are planning a series of activities to boost our interaction with our alumni. We are launching new alumni seminars as part of the departmental seminar series, and soon will be inviting folks from both academia and industry to share their stories and visions on a regular basis. We will also strengthen our social media presence, for example in LinkedIn and WeChat, to better interact with alumni and current students and help connect them to the market. So stay tuned, and do let me know if you have any suggestions here!
