55th Anniversary International Conference:
Inherit and Inspire: The Past, Present and Future of Chinese Communication Studies

Conference Introduction

To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, we will host a Chinese-language conference Inherit and Inspire: The Past, Present, and Future of Chinese Communication Studies on 18 January 2020 in collaboration with School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University. We shall take stock of what has been achieved during more than four decades of Chinese communication studies in various Chinese societies, with regard to the main research areas, in terms of theoretical and methodological breakthroughs as well as their influence in global contexts and future prospects. We welcome debates that are thematic and conceptually informed, which shall spur research innovations in Chinese communication studies and beyond.

This will be a one-day event that consists of 4 sessions. Articles presented in the conference will be selected to produce a book volume or a special journal issue.
