Recent News: Exchange Workshop at Shenzhen University

Recently, our group visited Prof. Zhou Ye’s Functional Materials & Electronics Group in the College of Electronic Science and Technology, Shenzhen University. The purpose of this trip is to promote the academic exchanges between the two groups in different research areas including halide perovskites, organic semiconductors, two-dimensional materials and related optoelectronic devices.

We visited their laboratory facilities (e.g., STM, AFM, KPFM, ICP-MS, HPLC DSC-TGA, Contact Angle Meter, Electron Beam Lithography, Stretching/bending cycling machine, Ferroelectric Tester, Cryogenic Probe Station etc. mainly for material characterizations and optoelectronic and nanoeletronic device fabrications. Then, we two groups gathered together and held a joint workshop. There were more than ten presentations given by group members of both groups. For instance, Mr. Qin Zhaotong and Mr. Yuhao Li reported their recent research progress on low-dimensional halide perovskite materials. Dr. Chen Xiaoli showed a polyoxometaltae-based flash memory which could function as an artificial synapse. Dr. Wang Yan presented the novel applications of inorganic perovskite quantum dots on photonic synapses and memory devices. Dr. Lv Ziyu reported the fabrication of photo-tunable bio-memory device by using silk protein. Dr. Lau Tsz-Ki introduced the implementation of Synchrotron X-ray Scattering on the structural and morphology study of organic and inorganic materials. These interesting talks attracted lots of attentions and inspired hot discussions. We believed that this impressive workshop could establish close collaborations between our group and Prof Zhou’s group and initiate interesting interdisciplinary studies.
