Paper on full internal state control of NaRb is published in Physical Review A as a Rapid Communication. It's also selected as Editor's Suggestion. With the capability of vibrational control, we can investigate polar molecules with different chemical reactivity and interactions with a single molecular species!

Observation of coherent heteronuclear spinor oscillations between spin-1 Na and Rb.

December, 2012:
With the help of sympathetic cooling, we are now producing BEC mixtures of Na and Rb! It is interesting to observe the interspecies interaction induced immiscibility between the two clouds. This is clearly visible from the TOF images.
October, 2012:
Feshbach resonances between Na and 87Rb are observed.

April 11, 2012:
Our lab welcomed the birth of our first Bose-Einstein condensate. It was realized with the polular 87Rb atoms. This is also the first and only BEC in Hong Kong. The evaporation is carried out in a hybrid magnetic quadrupole + optical dipole trap.

Rb is loaded into the optical dipole trap

We observe the first Na MOT.

Finally, we have some cold atoms. The first MOT of Rb is observed today!
