VC meeting with CUSU representatives (29 May 2018)
The Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rocky S. Tuan, was invited to meet with representatives from CUSU, Student Press and Campus Radio, exchanging opinions on different topics and responding to students’ concerns. Professor Tuan hopes to establish good communication with students.
To nurture students to become future leaders with social responsibilities, Professor Tuan dedicated to continue strengthening the development of the College system, general education and all-round education. The University is actively planning a new undergraduate course on "positive psychology" to enhance students' resilience and problem-solving capacities. Professor Tuan also hopes to cultivate students' innovation and adventure spirit, allowing them to grasp the opportunities and challenges ahead. In line with this, the University will include innovative elements in new curriculum design and extra-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to make good use of these opportunities and resources.
Vice-Chancellor Attending CSSA High Table Dinner (16 March 2018)
The Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rocky S. Tuan attended the High Table Dinner hosted by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) on 16 March 2018. As the guest of honour, Professor Tuan delivered a speech encouraging the 200 attending students and sharing his insights into life with them. He was even invited to take part in a magic performance! The Dinner was a fruitful and enjoyable event where students could interact with the University Management, professionals from different fields and peers.
Welcoming Dinner for Professor Rocky Tuan – organized by CUPSA (9 March 2018)
To welcome the new Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rocky S. Tuan and to facilitate his interaction with the postgraduate student community, a welcoming dinner was organized by the Postgraduate Student Association of CUHK (CUPSA) on 9 March evening. Around 70 postgraduate students were grateful to hear the inspiring stories of Professor Tuan’s university life. Professor Tuan also shared with participants three components of a fruitful postgraduate study, apart from professional knowledge: acquiring learning skills, establishing network and helping others.
Vice-Chancellor Attending CUSU High Table Dinner (9 February 2018)
The eighth Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Rocky S. Tuan attended the High Table Dinner hosted by The Student Union of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSU) on 9th February. The dinner was attended by around 140 students. Professor Tuan was invited to deliver a speech and shared his personal experiences and the strategic plan of the University. All participants enjoyed the event and had a great experience on that night!
Tea Gathering with the Vice-Chancellor (22 January 2018)
The eighth Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Rocky S. Tuan invited various leaders and representatives of student associations to attend a tea gathering on 22nd January. The gathering was attended by close to fifty student representatives. Professor Tuan actively listened to the voices and opinions of students, while exchanging with them thoughts and ideas about the future of CUHK. Everybody had a very good communication and interaction, warming up the gathering!
