A delegation comprised of Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Prof. Chan Hsiao-chang, Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee, Prof. Wan Chao from the School of Biomedical Sciences and Ms. Samantha L.K. Wong from the Office of Academic Links (China) visited Jinan University (JU), China on 7 May 2013. Subsequent to the signing of a collaborative agreement between the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and JU in May 2013 on the establishment of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Tissue Regeneration and Repair Synergistic Innovation Center" based in the Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine (CUHK – JU), Ministry of Education (MOE) (the Key Laboratory), the purpose of this visit was to attend a pre-assessment meeting for the Key Laboratory. During the meeting, the delegates and the invited experts shared their views on the enhancement and future development of the Key Laboratory.
On 12 July 2013, a CUHK delegation comprised of Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Prof. Wan Chao and Ms. Samantha L.K. Wong revisited JU and participated in an assessment meeting of the Key Laboratory. Topics such as preparation for MOE, evaluation on the share of operational funding and the latest development of the Key Laboratory were discussed in the meeting (also see the corresponding coverage by the Office of Academic Links (China) HERE).
Indeed, through the common platform of the Key Laboratory, our School has been in close connection and interaction with JU since our inception in mid 2009 (see previous exchange activities conducted in September and December 2010, early and end November 2011, and April 2012). The above delegation visits further consolidated our academic bondage.
