Undergraduate Scholarship in Geometric Analysis
Ms. Wei Huang (黃瑋) donated a sum of HK$50,000 to the Department of Mathematics of The Chinese University of Hong Kong for the establishment of a scholarship on geometric analysis. The capital as well as the interest/income generated from the fund will be used to establish a scholarship starting from the academic year 2021/22. The regulations governing the award of the scholarship are as follows:
- The scholarship is known as “Undergraduate Scholarship in Geometric Analysis” (幾何分析獎學金).
- The amount of scholarship is HK$5,000.
- The scholarship is awarded to one non-first year full-time undergraduate student with major in Mathematics and have taken 3 or more courses in the area of geometry, topology, analysis and partial differential equations which have course code MATH 3XXX or above. The recipient will be selected by the Department of Mathematics on the basis of academic merit. The recipient should have attained cumulative major GPA 3.0 or above. Female and underrepresented students will be given higher priority for this scholarship.
- Each year, the Department of Mathematics will nominate a suitable candidate for the award. The particulars of the nominee should be sent to the donor timely by the department.
